A covered patio or a pergola is what makes a deck usable in the middle of a Florida afternoon. Grain & Co. builds both, either over a new deck or over one that is already there, with the posts and footings sized to carry the roof.
A pergola gives you broken shade and keeps the sky. A solid roof gives you full shade and keeps the rain off. Grain & Co. will show you both on the drawing before you pick, and run lighting and a fan into the frame if you want them.

What is the difference between a pergola and a covered patio?
A pergola has open rafters that break the sun and let rain through. A covered patio has a solid roof that keeps both off. A pergola is the lighter and cheaper build; a covered patio is the one that lets you sit out in a Florida downpour.
Can a pergola go over a deck that is already built?
Often yes, but the existing frame decides it. A roof adds load and wind uplift, so Grain & Co. looks at the footings and the posts first and says plainly whether they carry it or need adding to.
Can you put lights and a fan in a pergola?
Yes. Lighting and fan wiring is run inside the frame while it is being built, which is far tidier than surface conduit added afterwards. Say so at the design stage and it is in the drawing and the price.
Do covered patios need a permit in Lee County?
A roofed structure attached to a house is permitted work in Lee County, and the drawings have to show how it is anchored. Grain & Co. builds to the code that applies and handles the drawings with the quote.
